When is someone a coomer?
Someone is called a coomer when porn use starts to affect daily life. You can recognize this concretely by:
- Frequency: watching porn and masturbating more than 4 times a day.
- Time spent: spending more than 15 hours per week on porn.
- Negative consequences: worse concentration, less motivation, procrastination, and problems in social or romantic relationships.
- Example: a student who, instead of studying, spends 5 hours daily on pornographic sites and cancels plans with friends.
So, a coomer is not someone who watches porn occasionally, but someone whose behavior is consistently harmful to themselves and/or the people around them.
A coomer is different from a gooner. Gooning is a state of being, an activity derived from edging. Gooning can be part of a coomer’s daily routine. A gooner is a more intense form of a coomer where porn use lasts even longer and more intensely, and this trance-like state is consciously pursued.
