When is someone a coomer?
Someone is called a coomer when porn use begins to interfere with their daily life. Specifically, you can recognize this by:
- Frequency: Watching porn and masturbating more than 4 times a day.
- Time spent: Spending more than 15 hours a week on porn.
- Negative effects: poorer concentration, less motivation, procrastination, and problems in social or romantic relationships.
- Example: a student who, instead of studying, spends 5 hours a day on pornographic sites and cancels plans with friends.
A coomer is therefore not someone who watches porn occasionally, but someone for whom this behavior is structural and harmful to him and/or the people around him.
A coomer is different from a gooner . Gooning is a state of being, an activity derived from edging. Gooning can be part of a coomer's daily routine. A gooner is a more intense form of coomer, where the porn use continues even longer and more intensely, and this trance-like state is consciously pursued.
